Forest City Baptist Church of Rockford, Illinois is 54 years old. It met for the first time in September 1956 in the Mendelssohn
building. Then in January 1959 moved into a church building at 1625 Myott Ave. and later purchased an apartment building next
door for it's education center. In February 1973 the church purchased new property from the old Pepper farm, with ground
breaking May 20, 1973 and began building in June of 1973. In April 1974, Sunday School and Church services began at the new
location at 4241 Pepper Dr.
We have had four pastors in the history of the church: Rev.Will H. Bisgaard, Rev. Wayne Kemp, Rev. Bill Bourne, and Dr. Chuck
Reagan.
